We’re still around… somewhere.

52nd Filmfare Awards, Results. February 26, 2007

Best Film
Rang De Basanti
-Well deserved.

Best Actor
Hrithik Roshan – Dhoom 2
-There were no real nominations. SRK sucked as Vijay in Don so it was automatically gone, I’m sure Kabhi Alvida probably didn’t deserve any awards. It was a toss up between Aamir Khan and Hrithik.
Although, SRK got nominated for Don despite playing a negative role, where was Aamir’s nomination for Best Actor for Fanaa?

Best Actress
Kajol – Fanaa
-Hmm, Kareena Kapoor was brilliant in Omkara. I think she was more deserving.

Best Director
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra – Rang De Basanti
-Right on!

Best editing
P S Bharati – Rang De Basanti
-Bollywood definately LACKS editing skills, but it was good in RDB.

Best Story
Lage Raho Munnabhai
-No way…

Best Screenplay
Jaideep Sahni – Khosla Ka Ghosla
-Wow, totally unexpected but I TOTALLY agree. I didn’t think they would even nominate it.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male)
Abhishek Bachchan – Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female)
Konkona Sen Sharma – Omkara
-Deserving, although Soha Ali Khan was pretty good too.

Best Actor in a Comic Role
Arshad Warsi – Lage Raho Munnabhai
-Definately the best OUT of the nominations. But again, why didn’t they nominate Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav?
VERY DISAPPOINTING, where are the REAL nominations?

Best Actor in a Negative Role
Saif Ali Khan – Omkara
-Of course!

Best Music
A R Rahman – Rang De Basanti
-Mithoon atleast deserved a nomination.

Best Lyrics
Prasoon Joshi – Chand Sifarish (Fanaa)
-I’d have to ask Pingu about this one, hehe.

Best Playback (Male)
Shaan and Kailash Kher (Fanaa)
-Toss up between Chand Sifarish and Tere Bina from Atif.

Best Playback (Female)
Sunidhi Chauhan – Beedi (Omkara)
-Well deserved.

Best Cinematography
Binod Pradhan – Rang De Basanti
-Right on!

R. D. Burman Award
-I COULDN’t BELIEVE THIS, MITHOON deserved this award, not the dude who won it. Very disappointing.

-The awards seemed sort of cheaply done. The sets, stage, everything was cheap. So much for being the called the Indian “Academy Awards”.
-Needed a better host than SRK. Someone funnier.
-Obviously need better judges, better nominations.
-Filmfare needs to stop sucking upto the Johar-Bachchan-SRK-Chopra camp.
-Himesh delivered a lot of hits in the year, composed great music, he deserved atleast one award. Even if they had created a special award for him. I’ve noticed that a lot of people are envious of his success. I don’t understand it.
-Good performance by Hrithik, Bipasha’s performance wasn’t all that. Sri Devi, wow she looks the same, well done, very impressive! Good job by A.R Rehman as well.
-Overall I think Filmfare is losing it’s touch, IIFA awards are better to watch.

i think the film fare awards are not good watching anymore as i have left watching them from last 5 years because these awards are waste of time and no justice is done in these awards

  2. Pingu Says:

ive just stopped watching because of DUMB EXAMSSS that wont leave me alone sob sob. and because i dont have satellite in waterlooo SOB SOB even more

  3. Anjum Says:

The survey is really very good on filmfare awards…They are really a waste of time…besides all that which is mention on this page.. I really miss KADER KHAN in the awards.. I have been watching filmfares for a very long time hoping to see any good changes in it. but they really dont want to leave the bachchans, SRK and yash chopra…KADER KHAN never got any awards even though has given lots of great stuff to the film industry… Jagdeep. Dilip Kumar, Shakti kapoor, and many more…are left un remembered…..They deserve a life time achievement award atleast…

  4. I really agree with Anjum, the filmfare awards are just not going to change! They should really rename it to something like “Family awards” rather than filmfare Awards. I watch only to see the performances of other actors and actress, other than that I don’t have to even guess who will get the award, I know who will!

  5. L Says:

I think that Amir khan deserved the best actor award than Hrithik Roshan. Just because he did a lot of stunts in Dhoom 2 doesn’t make him the best actor and he didnt even have alot of acting in the film.

  6. aziz kapadi Says:

i aboslutely agree with anjum saab and roshiniji this filmfare awards is only about making dollars and sterlings.

Kader Khan is the man behind Amitabh Bachchans great success for his dialogues.

There is always behind somones success these people should be awarded as they are neglected.

They know the money is only out of India there is no money in Indian crowd for iifa awards so they go around the world.

I think this iifa awards is only a money game they are just giving awards out to anything and anyone there is no meaning to any films now a days.

  7. aziz kapadi Says:

let me tell you all in the recent years the indian film industry is making load of crap movies in which there is nothing but all rubbish.

Watch movies from the time they started till possibly mid 90’s after that all movies are just a haste and waste.
